MUTATION!
Chapter
1
It
was just a ordinary day in a ordinary school,or so Poppy thought...“X
divided by 7 =14.28571428571426 blah blah blah blah blah blah,”the
maths teacher droned on and on as the swots scribbled and the idiots
chucked paper planes Poppy cringed as a spit ball hit the back of her
neck. “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE,”screeched emergency
alarm as teachers swarmed in pushing and pulling children towards the
door. “Schnitzel!”Cried Poppy
fighting
her way through the crowd “ Schnitzel!” Then silence. “whoosh”
she peered through the window a ball of big red hurtling
towards her...
Chapter
2
“Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,”
Poppy groaned as she shifted all the rubble off her aching body she
blinked taking in the drastic change of light as she stood up quickly
scouting around for something to lean on she finally settled for a
gnarled bit of wood, she quickly hobbled
painfully towards a derelict old house. A fly slowly crawled across
the wall, she flicked at it absent mindedly and jumped back as the
whole house collapsed. What’s happening to me, thought Poppy
picking her way through the ruins of the house. Crunch! A shard of
glass cracked under the weight of her foot. Poppy picked up a
fragment and gasped her usually auburn hair was as black as the
darkest night and her green eyes were now turquoise blue. Why did I
have to stay in that class room? she cursed. Why? The it struck her.
Schnitzel! She sprinted towards the debris. Please don't be dead
she willed please. Every time her feet touched the ground huge
cracks split the Earth. She reached the wreckage and started
digging “Schnitzel!” She cried “Schnitzel!” Suddenly in a
burst of broken bricks and feathers something or some one came
bursting out of the pieces “Schnitzel!” She yelled tears poring
down her face. The parrot settled on her shoulder. She shivered was
it her imagination or was his beak a little sharper than she
remembered? “Oh Schnitzel,” she murmurer “what's happening to
me?” The parrot cocked his head and tweeted.

Poppy's
hand hovered over her door before changing her mind and slipping her
key into the lock and opening the door. She slipped inside. The
site of her parents beds brought tears to her eyes she slipped into
bed fully clothed and fell strait to sleep. She was momentarily
confused for a second as she woke up and as the truth hit her she
gave a rattling sob and curled up into a tight ball.
